NDSC Day on the Hill
Register Now for Our Day on the Hill!
The National Down Syndrome Congress will hold our first Day on the Hill, in conjunction with our 40th Annual Convention on Thursday, July 19th, 2012. This truly will be a Monumental Meeting! We’ll be providing a required training session the evening of Wednesday, July 18th in Washington, DC.

We invite you to join us in Washington, DC, to learn how to advocate for research funding, employment and long-term support issues, as well as the need to prevent dangerous restraint and seclusion in schools. This is your opportunity to tell your members of Congress and their staff how important these issues are to you and your family!
As part of the event, we will conduct training sessions on how to meet with your elected officials, so no previous experience with advocacy is necessary. The only requirements are that you are excited about educating your elected officials about Down Syndrome, our organization, and the need for more focused federal strategies related to improving opportunities for individuals with Down Syndrome.
We ask that at least one member of your family commit to a training session on Wednesday, July 18th. Because of this commitment, you should plan to arrive in Washington, DC sometime early on July 18th, and expect to attend meetings on Capitol Hill until 5:00pm on Thursday, July 19th. There is no fee required to participate in this event.
We hope that as many of you as possible will join us in Washington, DC as we carry our important message to Congress. Since we anticipate NDSC’s Day on the Hill will be a very popular event, and space is limited, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Day on the Hill registration will close on Friday, June 8th, or when capacity is reached, whichever comes first.
